Typing of the Dead Game FAQ
What is Typing of the Dead?
Typing of the Dead is a free zombie typing game. Zombies shuffle in with words on them — type a word to drop that zombie before it reaches you.
Is this the official Typing of the Dead?
No. tapWPM is an independent typing site. This mode is a browser homage, not affiliated with Sega's Typing of the Dead.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed. The game runs in your browser and stores nothing on a server.
How do I play Typing of the Dead on tapWPM?
Click Start Game, then type the letters on approaching zombies. Finish a word to remove that zombie. If one reaches you, the round is over.
Can this game improve my WPM?
Yes. Short words under time pressure train accuracy and key response, which carry over to timed WPM tests.
